This painting represents the terror that occurred on October 7th, 5784. The painting portrays many different layers of emotions that came with finding out the news. The center depicts the Gaza-Israeli Border, where the gate was torn down and mass murder occurred at the Nova Festival and surrounding settlements/ Kibbutzim. The blue strips, below and above the center represent the blue stripes on the Israeli flag. I believe these two blue strips represent the splitting of water which occurred on the second day of creation, of the sky and the sea. I feel it represents our ability to perceive only the things within the world, encompassed under the sky and above the sea. The outermost levels remind us of our spiritual ties and deeper understanding of our purpose in this world. The bottom layer represents the humbling realization that we are mortal and this physical life is not infinite. The top layer represents the built Biet Hamikdash (3rd Temple) during the coming Messianic times.
